90-year-old woman dies after failing to stop at stop sign, crashing into another vehicle in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY -- Officials with the Dodge County Sheriff's Office have identified a 90-year-old woman who died after a crash on Halloween.

It happened Monday, October 31st around 2:30 p.m. at County Highway V and County Highway Y in the Town of Leroy.

Sheriff's officials say an investigation has revealed a vehicle headed southbound on County Highway V failed to stop at a stop sign at County Highway Y.

That vehicle struck a vehicle headed westbound on County Highway Y.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle that was headed southbound was 90-year-old Irma Baumann. She was seriously hurt in the crash, and passed away on November 2nd at the hospital.

The driver of the westbound vehicle, a 66-year-old man from Lomira, sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts, Sheriff's officials said.

The crash is being investigated by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Team.
