8 hurt in separate crashes in area near Capitol and Appleton; 1 involved an ambulance
MILWAUKEE -- Two paramedics were among five hurt in a crash at Capitol and Appleton Wednesday, May 9. There was a separate crash nearby about 15 minutes prior.
The crash at Appleton and Capitol happened shortly after 4 p.m. and involved a vehicle and an ambulance.
Police said the five people hurt suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening. They were all taken to hospitals for treatment. There was no patient in the ambulance.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Police said there was a separate crash blocks away, near Capitol and Fond du Lac. That happened around 3:45 p.m.
Two vehicles were involved, and three people were hurt -- suffering injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
The investigation is ongoing.
