6,000 bikers put on a show at H-D 110th Anniversary Parade

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- It's the biggest spectacle connected with the Harley-Davidson 110th Anniversary celebration -- the huge parade.

About 6,000 motorcyclists took part in the nearly two-hour long ride from Miller Park to the Maier Festival Grounds on Saturday, August 31st.

Two-by-two the riders took off, parading through downtown Milwaukee -- from the stadium, to Wisconsin Ave., to Milwaukee St. -- entertaining enormous crowds along the way.

The leather-clad crowd beamed with pride while watching Milwaukee's home-town Harley heroes rev their engines.

At-home viewers had the best seat in town thanks for FOX6's eight-camera coverage of the event. Chief Meteorologist Vince Condella even gave us a view from inside the parade with the camera attached to his 2008 Harley-Davidson Street Glide.

Motorcycle lovers from around the world, including Colorado, Florida, England and Bulgaria, watched the parade on FOX6Now.com.

The parade ended at the Summerfest grounds after a five-mile long show, but the 110th Anniversary party hasn't run out of gas just yet.
