53-year-old woman found dead outside home Sunday morning

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Officials say a 53-year-old woman was found dead outside on S. 59th Street on Sunday morning, March 16th. Neighbors believe the cold weather and St. Patrick's Day celebrations may have been a deadly combination.

On Sunday morning, Angela Villajuan watched as Milwaukee police surrounded her neighbor's home.

"It looks like it`s taped off over there on the other side.  She probably fell on the other side of her house.  If it had been in the backyard, we probably would have been able to help her," Villajuan said.

Neighbors say the homeowner was found dead outside her home. FOX6 News is told the woman lived there alone.

Neighbors living in the area say they heard the woman partying and likely drinking on Saturday night into Sunday morning.

Ed Krug lives just a few doors down.

"She went to school with my wife and I went to school with her brother. She was very friendly -- got along with all the neighbors -- like talked to everybody," Krug said.

The woman's parents live in the home directly behind hers. The victim's father spoke with police inside -- telling neighbors walking by that his daughter fell in the driveway.

Initial dispatch reports say the woman's body was found to have signs of frostbite -- and she may have been outside for hours.

"She was a wonderful neighbor. Very kind and gracious. We're a tight-knit group around here," Villajuan said.

A spokesperson from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office says the woman has not been positively identified.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, March 17th.

FOX6 News is told the woman's death is not believed to be suspicious.
