52-year-old man shot and killed near 36th & Locust in Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE -- Police are investigating the fatal shooting of 52-year-old Herman Davis on the city's north side Friday morning, August 31st. It appears the motive was robbery.

"It`s a senseless killing for a few dollars that you robbed him for," said Carolyn Love, Davis' sister-in-law. "He`d do anything for you and he did not deserve this at all."

Family members say Davis lived in the neighborhood for 23 years. He went to a gas station early Friday morning to buy a pack of cigarettes. His wife waited for him all night.

Then officers were dispatched to an alley in the neighborhood just before 7 a.m. Friday. Davis' body was found by residents living in the area.

There are no suspects in custody at this time.
