50-year-old man arrested for fourth OWI in Janesville
JANESVILLE (WITI) -- Janesville police say a traffic crash led to the arrest of a 50-year-old man for his fourth OWI offense.
Janesville police officers were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on February 15th, just before 9:00 p.m. on E. Milwaukee St. near S. Martin Road.
Police say a vehicle driven by Michael Brockmann was headed westbound on E. Milwaukee Street when the driver lost control. The vehicle spun several times on the slick pavement and struck a tree on the terrace on the north side of the road.
Officers smelled an odor of intoxicants coming from Brockmann, and he admitted to drinking alcohol.
Standard field sobriety tests were issued, and Brockmann was found to be impaired. He was arrested for OWI.
A breath sample revealed an alcohol content of .14.
Brockmann was arrested on charges of OWI, fourth offense, operating with prohibited alcohol concentration greater than .02, and driving too fast for conditions.
