42-year-old Kenosha man killed in motorcycle crash

PLEASANT PRAIRIE (WITI) -- Officials in Pleasant Prairie say 42-year-old Dennis Olsen Jr. of Kenosha was killed in a crash involving his motorcycle on Sunday, May 5th.

It happened just after 5:00 p.m. near 75th Street at 49th Avenue.

Witnesses say Olsen was headed westbound on 75th Street when he attempted to pass another vehicle on the left and struck the median at 49th Avenue.

Olsen and the motorcycle came to rest in the westbound lanes of 75th Street.

Olsen was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious head injuries, according to officials.

Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue personnel transported Olsen to the lot of nearby Forest Park Elementary School in Kenosha where a landing zone for Flight for Life had been established. Flight for Life landed a short time later, however, Olsen was not transported by the helicopter. He was instead taken to Kenosha Hospital by Pleasant Prairie Fire & Rescue personnel where he was pronounced dead.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
