244 COVID-19 deaths in Wisconsin; 4,712 positive cases, 47K+ negative

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 4,620 positive cases of COVID-19 in the state as of Tuesday afternoon, April 21. Of those, 1,252 (27%) have required hospitalization. There have been 242 deaths statewide, and 47,841 people have tested negative.

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 2,289 cases and 135 deaths related to the coronavirus in the county as of Tuesday afternoon.

Health officials reported additional cases Tuesday, bringing the statewide total of positive cases to 4,712, and the total number of deaths to 244. DHS data is as of 9 p.m. the night before.
