22-year-old man tased following physical altercation with officer

MILWAUKEE -- A 22-year-old man was tased by police early Tuesday morning, January 1st after a physical altercation with a deputy.

Police say the incident occurred after an on-duty deputy pulled-over to assist the 22-year-old driver, who was in a disabled vehicle on I-43 near Capitol Dr.

Authorities say after a brief conversation between the deputy and the 22-year-old driver, the driver became uncooperative and started a physical altercation.

The officer called for backup and then tased the man while awaiting assistance. 

Authorities say the 22-year-old man originally gave officers a fake name. When police discovered the man's real identity they found a warrant out for his arrest.
