198 deaths in Wisconsin due to COVID-19, 3,960 positive cases, 40K+ negative

MILWAUKEE -- Officials with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Thursday, April 16 announced a total of 3,875 positive cases of the coronavirus statewide. Of those, 1,121 (29%) have required hospitalization. There have been 197 deaths in the state, and 40,974 people have tested negative for COVID-19.

The Milwaukee County coronavirus dashboard showed 2,006 positive cases of COVID-19 and 103 deaths in the county as of Thursday morning.

Additional cases and deaths reported by health officials Thursday (including the first death in Richland County), brought the total number of deaths statewide to 198, and the total number of positive cases statewide to 3,960. DHS data is as of 9 p.m. the night before.
