Summerfest is less than a week away; here's a look at how construction will impact the festival



MILWAUKEE -- Changes are coming to the Zoo Interchange. Ryan Luck with the Wisconsin Department of transportation joins FOX6 WakeUp to talk about all the construction that will impact your commute.

Zoo Interchange Project:

Reminder that the 84th Street Interchange fully opened yesterday (Thursday 6/23 midday).

The East Leg of the project that we refer to as CORE 1 (92nd Street to 68th Street) is now complete.

Friday, June 24:
Overnight Full Closure of I-41 North and South as well as the System Ramps from I-94 West to I-41 North and I-94 East to I-41 North for a traffic switch

Saturday, June 25:
Overnight Full Closure of I-94 East and system ramp from I-41/894 North to I-94 East

Tuesday, June 28:
Overnight Full Closure of system ramp from I-94 East to I-41/894 South

Wednesday, June 29
Overnight Full Closure of I-94 East and system ramp from I-94 East to I-41/894 South

Summerfest access tips during construction:
The I-794 East exit to Lincoln Memorial Drive remains closed as is the Lincoln Memorial Drive entrance to I-794 West.
Although the Jackson / Van Buren Ramps are open they tend to become congested early. During peak travel times consider all the great alternate routes, allow yourself plenty of time and consider utilizing the great transit options to get to the fest.
