AI-powered tech for NICU babies; how it works
You know that backup camera in your car? It can be pretty helpful. It turns out that the same concept has promise for the neonatal intensive care unit. To help train doctors for one of the highest-risk procedures in the NICU, researchers at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health Kids physicians have developed an artificial intelligence-based “digital mentor,” essentially a "backup camera" for intubations, the placement of a breathing tube. Dr. Ryan McAdams from UW Health joined FOX6 NOW to talk through this new tech.
