Incident in Racine County
Police were called to a home in the Town of Rochester in Racine County for a welfare check. Upon arrival, police attempted to make contact with someone in the house when a close-range gunshot was heard. Attempting to make contact with occupants was unsuccessful and a search of the home found an adult male and adult female who had be deceased for quite some time, according to Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling. A third person, an adult male, was found in the basement of the residence with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police do not believe there is any threat to the public and Sheriff Schmaling believes the deceased male in the basement is responsible for the deaths of the two.
