Panthers knock out Phoenix in Horizon League semi-final

ASHWAUBENON (WITI) -- UW-Milwaukee proved preseason ranking aren't worth a lick.  Saturday night at the Resch Center the Panthers (20-13) took down the top seed in the Horizon league, the UW-Green Bay Phoenix (24-6), on their home court.  The Panthers  73-66 overtime win sends them to the league Championship game.

Panthers star senior Jordan Aaron scored 28 points, including the final shot in regulation to send the game to overtime.  This game was a team effort, four of the five starters finished with double digit points.  Matt Tiby recorded a double double with 15 points and ten crucial rebounds.

The fifth-seeded Panthers advance to the Horizon League Championship game against third-seeded Wright State on Tuesday at the Nutter Center in Dayton Ohio.  Tip off is scheduled for 6pm.  UWM lost to the Raiders in in Dayton on January 21st, but beat Wright state at home in Milwaukee on January 30th.
