Packers top draft pick Jones signs contract
GREEN BAY -- ON Wednesday, two days before the Green Bay Packers were due to take the practice field for the start of training camp, first round draft choice Datone Jones signed a contract. Jones is the last of the 11 Packers rookie to sign his deal, worth $7.71 million dollars ($6.25 guaranteed). The defensive end from UCLA is being counted on to shore up a unit that desperately needs another playmaker.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy holds his pre-training camp news conference on Thursday; the first workout is Friday morning.
