Packers running back Eddie Lacy added to the Pro Bowl roster

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy has been added to the Pro Bowl roster, the league announced Wednesday, January 15th. Lacy replaces Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson, who is unable to participate due to injury.

Lacy set franchise rookie records this season for rushing yards (1,178), rushing TDs (11) and rushing attempts (284) and tied the team’s rookie mark for 100-yard rushing games (four). He led all NFL rookies and ranked No. 8 among all players in rushing yards and was No. 3 in the league among all players with his 11 rushing TDs.

“I was extremely excited to hear that I am getting to go to the Pro Bowl after my rookie season,” said Lacy. “I feel like it gives me a great opportunity to thank my teammates, especially the offensive line, and coaches, for working with me and helping me accomplish what I did on the field this year.”

Lacy is the first Green Bay rookie running back to be selected to the Pro Bowl since John Brockington in 1971 and the first Packers RB to be named to the all-star game since Ahman Green in 2004.
