Marquette loses to San Diego St. 67-59

ANAHEIM, Calif. -- San Diego State's Xavier Thames scored a career-high 29 points as #25 Marquette rallied, but fell short in the championship game of the Wooden Legacy 67-59 on Sunday night.
The Golden Eagles came back to tie the game at 53 with 3 1/2 minutes to play, but the Aztecs (5-1) closed with a 14-4 run to knock off their second ranked opponent in two games.
Deonte Burton scored 15 points to lead Buzz Williams squad, which lost to its 2nd unranked foe in a week.
Davante Gardner tried to go-but was rendered ineffective by the flu; he scored 4 points.
