Marquette blocked by Arizona St. 79-77

TEMPE -- Jahii Carson scored 23 points and Derrick Wilson had his potential game-tying shot swatted away at the buzzer by Jordan Bachynski (7 blocks) as Marquette lost a 79-77 heartbreaker to Arizona State Monday night in Tempe.
The Sun Devils (6-0 for the first time since 1985) led by 15 in the first half, but had to withstand a late rally from the 25th ranked Golden Eagles (3-2).
Davante Gardner led coach Buzz Williams team with 18 points. Racine's Jake Thomas scored all sixteen of his points after intermission.
Todd Mayo missed the game after spraining an ankle in practice.
