Jennings reaches 5-year, $47.5 million deal with Minnesota Vikings
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Minnesota Vikings have reached a five-year deal with free agent wide receiver Greg Jennings worth a reported $47.5 million with $18 million guaranteed.
Jennings is following the footsteps of Brett Favre, Darren Sharper and Ryan Longwell in going to the Vikings after playing for the Packers.
Jennings has been with the Green Bay Packers for his 7 year career. Since 2007, he was Aaron Rodgers go to receiver. However, in 2012, injuries limited Jennings to just 8 games and 4 touchdowns.
According to Packers.com, Jennings ranks in the top ten in franchise history in receptions (425), receiving yards (6,537) and touchdown receptions (53). He has also tied James Lofton (86 games) for the second-fewest games needed by a Packer to reach 6,000 career receiving yards, trailing only Sterling Sharpe (84 games) in the franchise record books.
Reports say that Jennings will wear number 15 with the Vikings.
