Heartland Trophy stays with Bucky, Badgers beat Iowa on the road
MILWAUKEE (WITI)-- The Wisconsin Badgers picked up their 6th win of the season and became Bowl eligible for the 12th year in a row when they beat the Hawkeyes in Iowa, 28-9.
Iowa got ahead first with 2 Field Goals by Mike Meyer but the Badgers got the momentum going when QB Joel Stave connected with Jacob Pedersen for a 44 yard touchdown pass and Bucky went into the half leading 7-6.
The 2nd half got even better for the Badgers, Jared Abbrederis caught a 20 yard touchdown pass making it 14-6. Abbederis left the game with a chest injury after the score.
Iowa added another Field Goal but James White stole the show adding 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter. White finished with 132 yards rushing. QB Stave threw for 144 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception.
Linebacker Chris Borland did not play because of a hamstring injury.
Wisconsin hosts Brigham Young at Camp Randall Stadium Saturday, November 9th at 2:30 p.m. CT.
