Cubs avoid sweep, beat Brewers

MILWAUKEE (WITI)-- The Brewers were going for the 4 game home sweep of the Cubs on Thursday but a lack of offense kept them from achieving the feat.

Cubs starting pitcher, Jake Arrieta, limited the Crew to just 4 hits. The Crew's lone run came from a Carlos Gomez homer in the bottom of the 7th, his 21st of the year.

Arrieta picked up his 4th win of the season going 7 innings pitched allowing 1 run and 3 hits. Brewers starter Kyle Lohse was quite the opposite of Arrieta.  Lohse only lasted 5 innings allowing 7 hits and 3 runs. The Cubs would add 2 more to the board and beat the Crew 5-1.

The Brewers host St. Louis tomorrow for their final 3 home games.
