Cards clip Brew Crew, 6-5
MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The St. Louis Cardinals pecked away at the Milwaukee Brewers for 6 runs after making two outs in the 3rd inning, then held on for a 6-5 win on Thursday night at Miller Park.
Wily Peralta left some pitches over the plate, but the Cards shattered a couple bats and put the ball in play while building what turned out to be an insurmountable lead.
St. Louis starter Jake Westbrook (1.10 ERA) left his relievers with a 6-1 lead to protect, but Milwaukee scored twice in the 7th inning, once in the 8th, and one more in the 9th before falling short.
The Brewers might have Aramis Ramirez in the line-up for Friday night's game; Ramirez has been sidelined by a sprained knee since April 5th.
Before the game, the team activated infielder Jeff Bianchi and sent outfielder Khris Davis to Triple-A Nashville.
