Brewers squeeze out a 4-3 win

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers defeated their nearest rival, the Cubs, Tuesday night at Miller Park, 4-3,  on a bases loaded suicide squeeze bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning.  After Caleb Gindl popped up an infield fly ball, Logan Schafer came through by getting a bunt down to score pinch runner Jeff Bianchi.

Carlos Gomez hit a two-run homer to pull the home team even at 3 and set the stage for the final heroics.  Marco Estrada turned in a strong starting performance, but it was reliever Jim Henderson who earned the victory in Milwaukee's 150th game of the season.

Chicago pitcher Justin Grimm followed through after Schafer's bunt by throwing to first base to record the out, even though the winning run had already crossed the plate.
