Brewers: Ryan Braun added to All-Star lineup, replacing Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Brewers have announced Ryan Braun has been added to the All-Star lineup -- replacing Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday.

Braun was named by manager Bruce Bochy to replace Holliday.

Braun is a six-time All-Star (also 2008-2012).

ESPN reported Holliday would not play in the All-Star Game because of a quadriceps injury that has sidelined him for more than a month.

Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak announced Friday, July 10th that Holliday would not be activated from the disabled list this weekend, making the left fielder ineligible to play in Tuesday's All-Star Game in Cincinnati, according to ESPN.

Holliday suffered a torn quadriceps on June 8th.

The MLB All-Star game will be played on Tuesday, July 14th at 6:00 p.m. on FOX. The National League will take on the American League at the Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati, Ohio.
