Brewers, Leinenkugel's team up for 2014 Arctic Tailgate

MILWAUKEE (WITI) – Two of the most anticipated annual “signs of summer” are coming together to form the perfect storm for Brewers fans, and it’s all happening in just a few short weeks at Miller Park.

The Milwaukee Brewers have set Saturday, March 1 as the date for this year’s Arctic Tailgate party, which marks the beginning of individual ticket sales at Miller Park. Individual game tickets will go on sale at 9 a.m. that day. This is the eighth year that the Arctic Tailgate will mark the start of individual ticket sales.

New this year, campers in line at Miller Park will have a chance to warm up in a Leinenkugel’s heated tent. The tent will be open both Thursday and Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

To celebrate the coming of summer, the first statewide serving of Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy will be available to a limited number of guests, 21 and older (NOTE: Fans must be in line at 5 pm on either Thursday or Friday to receive a wristband redeemable for one complimentary Leinenkugel products). Also, Pepsi products will be available both nights for those under 21.

In addition, the Leinenkugel’s Airstream will make an appearance at Miller Park, along with visits on Thursday and Friday from Dick Leinenkugel of the famous brewing family.

As the largest summer seasonal craft beer, Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy has developed a major league following since its debut in 2007. With increasing growth year over year, Summer Shandy has become synonymous with summer and America’s pastime.

On Saturday morning (March 1), the Box Office windows will open at 9 am for the sale of individual game tickets. Grebe’s Bakery, a new partner for the Brewers this year, will get the fun started with complimentary donuts for those in line. The Klement’s Famous Racing SausagesTM, Bernie Brewer and Brewers alumni players will be on hand to greet fans all morning. The first 2,000 fans in line will receive a hot dog and soda, compliments of Klement’s, Pepsi and Sportservice, as well as an Arctic Tailgate t-shirt. FOX Sports Wisconsin and 620 WTMJ will both serve as media sponsors, and the FOX Sports Wisconsin Girls will be in attendance on Saturday.

Please note the following safety regulations for the Arctic Tailgate. Participants will not be permitted to set up camp prior to noon on Thursday, February 27. No hand-made or hand-built shelters shall be permitted. No shelters made of cardboard or wood will be permitted. Shelters with a footprint greater than 100 square feet are not permitted unless otherwise approved by the Brewers.
