MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers continued their season-long dominance of the Pirates with a 5-2 victory on Tuesday night at Miller Park. Marco Estrada threw 112 pitches over six innings to gain the win while Gerrit Cole suffered the loss. He was the pitcher who partially instigated an Easter Sunday scuffle the last time these teams met, and the Milwaukee fans booed him throughout this contest.
Jonathan Lucroy's two-run single in the bottom of the third inning put the home team ahead 2-1 and the Brewers would never trail again. Carlos Gomez had to leave the contest after he aggravated a sore back and Ryan Braun, fresh off the disabled list, did not play the full nine innings, either, primarily as a precaution.
