Beyond the Game: Falls/Germantown gymnastics coach retiring

MENOMONEE FALLS (WITI) -- A Menomonee Falls coach has had to make one of the most difficult decisions of her life -- but seeing the type of people her competitors have become makes almost a quarter-century of self-sacrifice well worth it.

After devoting 24 years of her life to the young ladies who have competed in high school gymnastics, Tracy Howard is retiring. The head coach of the Menomonee Falls-Germantown co-op team has juggled being a wife and mother of three growing boys.

Priorities aside, Coach Howard leaves with the knowledge she has made a difference in countless young lives.

Coach Howard is a sort of matriarch of a gymnastics family. The senior members of that family say they won't soon forget what they have learned.

As they say, all good things must come to an end, and they have for the five seniors who competed with passion and pride for Menomonee Falls - Germantown gymnastics team -- each a champion in her own way, and all of them indebted to a coach, for her compassion and concern for their well-being, as much as her expertise.
