Back in basement; Brewers lose, 7-2

MILWAUKEE -- The Brewers fell to the Cubs, 7-2, on Thursday afternoon, and in so doing, fell back into the National League Central division cellar behind Chicago. The Cubs won 2 of 3 this week at Miller Park to win the series.

Matt Garza struck out 10 Brewers batters over 7 innings in a strong performance to earn the win.  Wily Peralta allowed 7 runs, although only 3 were earned, in taking the loss.

Juan Francisco did homer in his third straight game for the Brewers. Sean Halton collected a single to left in his first major league at bat.

The Brewers head to Pittsburgh for the weekend, trailing the Pirates in the standings by 15 and a half games.
