It all started with a simple glance at an old-button down shirt. In that split-second moment, I knew I was onto something: upcycle my old favorite shirt into a necktie.
Upties is exactly that. We take your favorite old button-down shirts and handcraft them into brand new, one-of-a-kind neckties and bow ties.
One of our strengths and main goals with Upties is preserving memories, specifically the memories associated with the old button-down shirts sent in from our clients. Some of our custom orders have included:
- 9 neckties crafted from cherished shirts of a beloved grandfather, which were gifted to the sons and grandsons in the family.
- A necktie created from the shirt worn during a wedding proposal, ultimately given as a Father's Day gift.
- A bow tie crafted from the dress shirt of a retired United States Marine, given as a Christmas gift to add to the Marine's bow tie collection.
