TOWN OF SOMERS (WITI) -- A 29-year-old Mount Pleasant man was taken to the hospital via Flight for Life after he fell into a trench while working on a sewer line in the Town of Somers Monday, March 16th.

It happened just after noon in the 1300 block of County Highway EA/72nd Avenue.

At the time of the incident, Reesman's Excavating and Grading Company of Burlington was trenching a new sewer line along County Highway EA/72nd Avenue.

Kenosha County Sheriff's officials tell FOX6 News the Mount Pleasant man got too close to the edge of the trench and fell in. The worker fell 15 to 20 feet. The trench did not collapse.

Fellow workers were able to pull the man out of the trench and he was taken to a playground near Somers Grade School.

Flight for Life then transported the man to Froedtert Hospital.

The condition of the injured worker is not known at this time, though we're told his injuries appeared to be non life-threatening.
