Woman taken to hospital following rollover crash on I-43

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's officials say one person was taken to the hospital following a rollover accident on I-43.

It happened Sunday afternoon, October 6th on I-43 S near Chase Ave.

Officials say a woman was trapped inside her vehicle. A Sheriff's Office spokeswoman says the woman suffered serious injuries.

Two lanes were shut down as crews worked the scene. Later, it was determined that I-43S would be shut down at Beecher Ave. so crews could take accident measurements.

Traffic was diverted off I-43S at Beecher, and drivers were directed to 6th Street and then to Holt, where they could re-enter the freeway.

No additional details have yet been released.
