BROOKFIELD -- If your wedding dress is collecting dust in the closet, now might be the perfect time to donate it to a worthy cause. A Brookfield bridal store can make it happen.

A bride will always remember her dress -- but she will only wear it once. This December Savvy Bride in Brookfield is holding a special Dress Drive to collect wedding dress donations from local women.
The wedding dresses will be collected and resold by Brides for a Cause, a charitable bridal organization that collects and resells wedding dresses for charity.
Brides for a Cause is currently partnered with Wish Upon A Wedding, a nonprofit organization that grants weddings for deserving couples.
"It's making their wishes come true that they wouldn't have been able to otherwise have," said Co-owner of Savvy Bride, Kate Winchell.
At least 50 dresses have already been donated. Savvy Bride also donates its own gowns.

Kelly Gonzalez got married in 2013. Now she hopes her dress will mean the world to someone else.
"That they can just have the day they imagined and even though they didn't think they would be able to have it , now they can," Kelly Gonzalez said.
During the Dress Drive, wedding dresses 2010 and newer are being accepted. Bridal accessories are also welcome.
Donation forms will be available at Savvy Bride. Donations may also be mailed to Brides for a Cause’s headquarters in Portland, or on an ongoing basis.
