Wisconsin lieutenant governor heading to Japan, Taiwan

MADISON — Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch is headed to Japan and Taiwan on a seven-day trade mission this month.

Kleefisch and a group of executives from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation will be in Japan from Sept. 13 through Sept. 15. They'll attend the 47th joint meeting of the Midwest U.S.-Japan Association, which includes Japanese corporations that have direct economic ties to the Midwest or are looking to develop them.

The group will visit Taiwan from Sept. 16 through Sept. 18. The agenda calls for meeting with companies with ties to Wisconsin or companies looking to develop them.

The state will cover the cost of the trip as part of the WEDC's international business development activities.
