Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest names 2026 Elite Eight finalists

The Wisconsin Beef Council on Thursday, April 2, announced the Elite Eight finalists in its third annual Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest, highlighting restaurants across the state competing for the top honor.

What we know:

The finalists were selected after thousands of nominations from burger fans statewide. A secret panel of judges will now visit each location to determine the winner.

The Elite Eight include:

  • Brew and Oles in Burlington
  • Brothers on Oak in Baraboo
  • The Dump Bar & Grill in Cambria
  • Game Over in West Bend
  • Local Press Eatery in Sheboygan
  • Mihm’s Charcoal Grill in Menasha
  • Pastimes Pub & Grill in Ripon
  • Skippy’s Burger Bar in Thiensville 

Dig deeper:

Judges will evaluate burgers based on taste, appearance, proper doneness and overall enjoyment. Bonus points may also be awarded for atmosphere and dining experience.

What's next:

The winner of Wisconsin’s Best Burger contest will be announced April 24, kicking off May Beef Month in Wisconsin.
