Wisconsin Avenue bridge over Highway 45 is no more! New bridge to be completed in Fall 2016

MILWAUKEE -- The Wisconsin Avenue bridge over Highway 45 is no more.

Crews spent the night Saturday, May 30th tearing it down as part of the Zoo Interchange project.

The work was delayed a bit due to the rain we saw this weekend.

Overnight, U.S. 45 was shut down between Greenfield Avenue and Watertown Plank Road for the bridge demolition.

The new Wisconsin Avenue bridge is set to be completed in Fall 2016.

Reconstruction of the Bluemound Road bridge over U.S. 45 is complete, with the bridge reopening overnight on May 18th. When the Bluemound Road bridge reopened, the Wisconsin Avenue bridge over U.S. 45 closed. Again -- it will remain closed through late 2016 as the bridge is reconstructed.
