"Why not do it up right?" Wisconsin couple's wedding features monster trucks, a pig roast...and a whole lotta mud!
PINE RIVER, WISCONSIN (WITI) -- It wasn't your average wedding! Monster trucks, mud and a pig roast made the day complete for one Wisconsin couple!
In Pine River, Wisconsin -- north of Wausau near Merrill -- a celebration of epic proportions!
"A mud truck redneck wedding! We got all our friends to come out," the bride, Charney Kappell said.
They all came out to see to hardcore "mudders" -- Charney Kappell and Ron Kuusisto Jr. tie the knot.
"It's just fun. It's a family-oriented sport. It's a good time," the groom, Ron Kuusisto said.
Just ask the groom's son!
"I've been mudding for seven years. First time I went mudding I was in a car seat," the groom's son, Ron Kuusisto III said.
The wedding ceremony included some traditional elements.
Members of the wedding party donned formal wear and the bride's son, a Marine Corporal based in Hawaii gave her away.
"I was slightly surprised but not completely. They both love all this, so it just seems right," the bride's son, Cal King said.
The bride's daughter is a Navy soldier. She was the maid-of-honor.
After the bride and groom sealed the marriage with a kiss, engines roared -- and the entire wedding party rolled out in their mud trucks!
"People pay to see this kind of thing!" the bride's son, Cal King said.
It's unique wedding celebration that won't soon be forgotten!
"This is just so much fun. It's a festival -- a celebration of love, and why not do it up right?" wedding guest Angie Cameruci said.
