Who is the mysterious "woman in black?" And why is she seemingly walking across America?

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- She's being called "the woman in black" -- and she's captured attention across the country -- even prompting the creation of a Facebook page.

The Daily Mail reports the woman, dressed in a black robe carrying black luggage is walking America.

The Daily Mail reports she has already walked from Georgia to Ohio.

Americans who spot her have shared her photo on social media -- and a Facebook page has been created, entitled: "Where is the mysterious woman in black?"

Police have identified her as 56-year-old Elizabeth Poles of Motts, Alabama.

Beyond that -- details are sparse.

Some have speculated she's on some sort of a religious mission.
