Watermelon spill closes I-43 south on-ramp near Green Bay

MILWAUKEE -- The on-ramp from Green Bay Avenue to southbound I-43 was shut down Thursday morning, June 21st after some watermelons spilled onto the road.

Crews had to shovel off the smashed melons, and a street sweeper was called in to clean up all the juice and seeds on the roadway.

The ramp was closed for almost two hours.

There is no word on where the melons came from, or even whether the driver was aware he had lost them.
