Walworth police seeking suspects after armed robbery

VILLAGE OF WALWORTH (WITI) -- Walworth police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred just before 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 2nd.

It happened at a Citgo gas station at 122 S. Main Street in the Village of Walworth.

Police say a clerk reported two suspects robbed him at gunpoint. The clerk was able to lock himself in an office, where he called 911.

A witness pumping gas told police the suspects fled east on Maple Ave.

Police say others in the area saw the suspect enter a tan colored full-size pickup truck with dual wheels, pulling a white RV trailer, approximately 30 feet in length with three windows on the driver's side. The awning of the trailer appeared to be partially open.

Police say the vehicle left the scene eastbound on Maple Ave.

The vehicle was last seen southbound on Highway 14 at the Wisconsin/Illinois state line.

Officials describe the suspects as a young adult female with shoulder-length blond hair, last seen wearing a royal blue T-shirt with red and white lettering, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.

The second suspect is described as a while male, approximately 13-15 years old with dark brown hair, last seen wearing a green shirt and tan shorts. He was seen carrying a black and white canvas bag over one shoulder.

A possible third suspect in the vehicle is a white man whose description is unknown.

Officials believe the suspects are stopping at churches and businesses asking for money and claiming to be a young family in need of help.
