Walworth Co. deputies investigate fatal crash on Hwy. 11

WALWORTH CO. (WITI) -- Walworth Co. deputies investigate a fatal crash that happened in the Town of Darien on Tuesday morning, February 26th. It involved a pickup truck and a semi.

The wreck happened just before 11 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 11 near Old 89 Rd. It appears the driver of the pickup truck lost control on the snow-covered road and slid into the westbound lane of Hwy. 11. The semi struck the pickup truck broadside on the driver's side of the vehicle.



44-year-old Carlos Cantu of Lake Geneva was killed in the wreck. He was wearing his seat belt. The driver of the semi was not hurt.

Highway 11 was closed for about four hours while the crash was investigated. At this time, no citations or charges are anticipated.
