VH1 Classic to become MTV Classic, feature shows like TRL, Beavis & Butt-head, Real World, Laguna Beach

MTV plans to rebrand VH1 Classic as MTV Classic beginning on August 1st, according to Rolling Stone.

Rolling Stone reports that according to a statement from the company, MTV Classic will focus on "an eclectic mix of fan-favorite MTV series and music programming drawn from across its rich history, with a special focus on the 1990s and early 2000s."



Rolling Stone reports that the debut hour on August 1st will replicate the first hour of programming in MTV's history -- commemorating the launch of MTV on August 1st, 1981.

Following the debut hour, MTV Classic will include shows like Total Request Live, MTV Unplugged, Beavis and Butt-head, Aeon Flux, Real World and Laguna Beach.
