Utility worker struck by vehicle Tuesday is in good condition
TOWN OF SALEM (WITI) -- Kenosha County Sheriff's officials say a 73-year-old woman was cited after a utility worker was struck by her vehicle in the Town of Salem on Tuesday afternoon, February 11th.
The driver, 73-year-old Mary Meyers-Nelson from the Village of Silver Lake received a citation for inattentive driving. Officials say no impairment is suspected.
The utility worker has been identified as 46-year-old James Harmon of Carpentersville, Illinois. He is reportedly in good condition.
Harmon was working for LB Communications conducting work on the cable/phone lines on the utility poles when the incident occurred.
Officials say Harmon was flagging traffic when he was struck by the vehicle.
Harmon sustained leg and head injuries. Salem Rescue transported him to the Kenosha County Center helipad, where the utility worker was then taken by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.
