Tyson Prepared Foods recalling "Cooked Pizza Topping"

SOUTH HUTCHINSON, KANSAS -- Tyson Prepared Foods is recalling approximately 12,060 pounds of pizza topping products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen.

The packaging identifies the products as beef, but they actually contain pork, and the pork products contain soy, a known potential allergen, which is not declared on the label.

The products subject to recall include: 10-pound cartons labeled as "Cooked Pizza Topping," containing two five-pound packages labeled as "Arrezzio-Cooked Beef Pizza Topping Manzo Cotto Per Pizza."

The products bear the establishment number EST. 623 inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label. The products were produced January 12th, 2012 and were sold to foodservice institutions nationwide via a distributor.

The product is intended for use in restaurants and institutional food operations, and is not sold in retail grocery stores.

Consumers with questions about the recall should contact Tyson Consumer Relations at 866-328-3156.
