BROOKFIELD -- Brookfield police say two women were struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Greenfield Avenue and Moorland Road on Sunday night, June 19th -- prompting the closure of the westbound lanes of Greenfield at Moorland.
It happened around 9:15 p.m.
Brookfield police and fire officials responded to the scene -- with officers performing CPR until paramedics arrived.
The victims, a 57-year-old woman from Missouri, and a 63-year-old woman from Missouri were taken to the hospital by ambulance. One was in critical condition, and the other in stable condition.
Police say the victims were reportedly crossing Moorland Road when they were struck by the vehicle. A preliminary investigation indicates the women were crossing Moorland Road against the light as the striking driver appears to have had a green arrow to turn.
The 24-year-old Brookfield woman driving the vehicle that struck the pedestrians is cooperating -- and there were no signs of impairment on her part, police say. The driver was not arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
