Two injured in crash involving three semis in Dodge County

DODGE COUNTY (WITI) -- Dodge County officials responded to the scene of a three-vehicle accident that occurred Wednesday, December 4th on Hwy. 33 near Hwy. P in Dodge County.

According to officials, three semis were involved in the crash, and two of the three semi drivers were injured.

Officials say none of the semis were hauling hazardous materials.

Officials say a semi headed northbound on Highway P struck another semi headed westbound on Highway 33, causing a large roll of steel to come off the westbound semi's trailer.

The roll of steel was estimated to be in excess of 25,000 pounds.

The third semi was eastbound and collided with the roll of steel.

The driver of the eastbound semi was taken to Froedtert Hospital with serious or critical injuries.

The driver of the northbound semi was taken to Hartford Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The westbound semi driver was uninjured.

Names, ages and hometowns have not been released.

Preliminary reports indicate that fog played a factor in crash. However, the cause of the crash is unknown and remains under investigation.
