Two injured following one-vehicle crash in Town of Burlington; speed appears to be factor

BURLINGTON (WITI) -- Two people were transported to the hospital following a single-vehicle accident in the Town of Burlington.

It happened around 2:55 a.m. Wednesday, October 22nd.

According to authorities, the operator was transported to Burlington Memorial Hospital and is currently being treated for hip injuries.

The passenger, who was trapped in the vehicle, had to be extricated by fire / rescue personnel. He was also taken to Burlington Memorial Hospital, and was treated for face and leg injuries. The passenger was later transported by Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital.

The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time.

The operator and passenger are both 29-year-old men from the Town of Burlington.

The accident is currently under investigation; at this time it appears speed was a contributing factor.
