"They've just loved this show!" China Lights has ended for 2016 -- but it'll be back next year!
MILWAUKEE -- Sunday, November 6th was the last night for the popular China Lights Festival at Boerner Botanical Gardens.
The exhibit celebrates Asian culture and features larger-than-life lantern displays.
It was supposed to end at the end of October, but because it was so popular, organizers extended the event through Sunday, November 6th.
"The 'oohs' and the 'ahhs' and seeing the kids, young and old -- I mean, they've just loved this show and they come out of the show saying 'thank you! Thank you for bringing it to Milwaukee' and how wonderful they thought the show was," Shirley Walczak, director of Boerner Botanical Gardens said.

China Lights normally opened at 5:00 p.m., but because of Daylight Saving Time on Sunday, the display opened earlier.
If you didn't get a chance to check it out this year -- there's GOOD NEWS!
Plans are underway for a 2017 return of the China Lights, a celebration of Asian culture at the Boerner Botanical Gardens.
An event spokesperson tells FOX6 News China Lights would likely return around the same time frame in 2017 -- around October.
