MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies and the Milwaukee County Fire Department were on the scene near the Washington Park lagoon after getting a call that three teen girls were stuck out on the island after falling through ice.
A Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman says four teen girls had gone out on the ice covered lagoon, and three broke through the ice into chest to waist deep high water. The girls were able to make it out of the water and back up on the ice, and made it to the island.
Officials worked to get the girls removed from the island, across the ice and back to shore. The three girls who fell through the ice were taken to a hospital. We're told the girls are doing fine.
