Taxi driver sentenced for sexual assault of teen

MILWAUKEE -- A taxi driver convicted of luring a teen girl into his vehicle was sentenced Monday, July 23rd to 101 days in the House of Correction.

45-year-old Opinder Singh of Greenfield plead guilty to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in West Allis last month.

West Allis police say Singh asked two minors to get into his taxi on Thursday, May 24th.

The mother of the 13-year-old alleged victim says her daughter took off running to school after she refused to ride in the front seat of Singh's taxi.

The mother of the 16-year-old alleged victim says her daughter was approached by Singh minutes later. The teen claims Singh pulled his cab over, locked the doors and touched her inappropriately.

Singh was granted Huber privileges for work release.
