Suspicious package in Germantown contains cell phone
GERMANTOWN (WITI) -- Officials in Germantown on Monday, June 17th investigated a suspicious package after receiving a report from a mail carrier that a package was ticking and shaking.
The mail carrier put the package down near Timberline Ct. and officials were dispatched to the scene.
Police say the address on the package was covered, and the mail carrier wasn't sure where she pickedit up.
Police controlled a 300-yard area around the package until the owner was identified.
The package was determined to contain a cell phone, which was not shut off. Police say a call came in on the phone, so the phone made noise because it had a missed call.
